Another Saturday snow day. I don't understand what's up with the weather? Why does it keep snowing on Saturdays? Give me a Tuesday or a Wednesday or a Sunday or a Monday or a Thursday...
Regardless, it's snow and it's beautiful.
Even though Monday is a Teacher Workday... maybe there will be a delay?
Well, since this blog is called The Meehanderings, I wanted to share that I've done some. Meehandering that is. Thinking about things I like, things I love, and recently... thinking about how nice it will be to own a house one day. I'd like to make it mine. Sometimes I think about colors or accents or how I will set it up.
There is a run-down cottage in my neighborhood and every time I see it, I want it.
So that got me thinking...
One of my favorite movies:
... has two beautiful houses in it. I think it tells a lot about a person by which one they would see themselves living in. I'll show you both houses, then I bet you'll guess which one I dream about.
Here's Cameron's California/L.A. house:
And here's Kate's cottage in a tiny English town...
Because I have seen so many movies recently that I like and are up for awards, I have been dutifully watching the Awards shows this season. I watched the ENTIRE Golden Globes. I DVRed and then watched the entire SAG Awards last night. Both times I was hoping for Sandra Bullock to win for The Blind Side and for Modern Family to win for best Comedy Series. In both shows, Sandra Bullock won but Glee won both times for the comedy series. And that's ok, because I also love Glee. But I was hoping Modern Family would get some recognition.
But I digress... Last night at the SAG Awards, Sandra Bullock presented Betty White with the Lifetime Achievement Award (very well-deserved when you think about her track record). Her acceptance speech was one of the funniest things I have seen in awhile.
It was AWESOME! I was so inspired by Sandra Bullock's character. She had heart, she had moxie, she had GUMPTION! If you are into those things at all, go see this movie. Seriously, when I left the theater, I decided that her character was the type of person I want to be.
So, I'm sitting next to Phebe who is completed doped up from her spay surgery and I'm watching "Walk the Line". I decided to do some investigating on my computer about the real June Carter and Johnny Cash.
