Um, hello July.

Hey!

It's the mysterious monthly blogger!    Just kidding.  I've been starting my summer!

The last week in June, I mostly just slept, played, recovered from the school year and studied for my Math final (which I, nerdily enough, got a 99 on!!).   So, I officially passed the math course.

The week before the 4th of July was spent preparing for my trip to Deep Creek Lake with some amazing friends.  We were there Friday the 1st until Tuesday the 5th and every part of it was wonderful.  Some people are just meant to be on the water.  I am one of those people. Here are some pics:

Some ladies and I went on a hike to Swallow Falls.

Kristin and I didn't know what to do with our hands...
 Jaime and I did!
 Listened to some good tunes...
Saw some beautiful firework displays by the men of our group...
 I made a cake!
 This is Jaime's parents' backyard...
The strongest woman in the world...
Gets some liquid courage and back dives off the boat...
 Waving a friendly boatersby...

Since then, I've been spending my time continuing to work on my tan and studying for the Oceanography final that I'm taking TOMORROW MORNING.  Once that is over, I hope I'll feel like my life is my own again!!

Happy Summer!

I want to go here!

Yes, I watched Kindergarten Cop yesterday.  I saw a sign in the movie that said "Welcome to Astoria".  So it was time to do some research.

WHAT!  Astoria, Oregon was home to some awesome movies!!

Oh, dometer.

There was lots of amazing on our trip. Beautiful weather, sleepy dogs (one who is STILL sleeping next to me, after sleeping from 8pm-9:15 am, then napping from 9:30-?), good friends.

On the way home, however, something very cool happened to the Scarlet Harlot (my car). I hit 100,000 miles!

Catherine and I were traveling north on I-81. This is a road I am very familiar with, having traveled it at least 5 times a year while I was in college.

Ten exits away from JMU, at the Weyers Cave exit...

My sweet car hit 100,000 miles! Woo hoo! What a life you've had!

**Mom and Dad, I was keeping up with traffic. Not speeding excessively, ignore that part.**

Phebe was less impressed and more tired and hot. Also, I think her head expanded in the heat.

Then I just took some more familiar sites pictures...

Sigh...

The exit I used ALL four years!

Love the canoe on top of my car, but this is the Port Republic Rd exit. Love driving through JMU.

Dela-where?

Dela- what? I went to Delaware!!

Dela-why? To visit Leah and John!

Also to try Crab Fries for the first time. (They were GREAT!)

We had drinks called "Aquamosas". They were very sweet and very green.

Dela- who? Leah and I met at Chop Point Camp in Maine and we have ridiculous amounts of fun together. John is her lucky (and awesome) husband.

Dela-when? Sunday. Up and back in the same day. Next time I'll try to finagle it so I can stay overnight-- even to just have more time with them!

Love laughing with old friends who only live 2 hours away now!!!

Le Parents at LeMoyne!

This past weekend, I was in Syracuse, NY with my parents and family for my parents' 35th college reunion. They went to LeMoyne college.

It's such a pretty place... at the top of a hill. "The Heights" as they call it...

Two of my dad's college bands, "Salt Springs" and "Boston Street" had a big reunion concert on Saturday night. Here a two clips of my Dad and his college buddies playing. I AM SO SORRY that you can hear me singing sometimes. A couple glasses of wine and apparently I think I'm part of the band. Oof. I'm clearly no longer a member of WBHS choir! At any rate, enjoy Dad Taylor...

This next one he dedicated to me! "This one goes out to 'Who's that Girl?' Yes, she's my daughter."

Here is what I learned at LeMoyne... my parents were and are still "hotties", my dad can rock out like a mamma jamma (9:00pm-1:30am!), and the class of '75 outpartied me BIG TIME! I was exhausted!!

It was amazing... and I'm so glad I had that experience! Thanks, mom and dad. :)

Ready to Go!

This weekend, I'm traveling to Syracuse, NY for my mom and dad's 35th college reunion. TWO of my dad's college bands are reuniting to play a full night of music, and I feel like this is something I HAVE to experience!

But, airports are getting crazy. I am definitely NOT checking a bag, but I didn't have a good-sized travel bag. So today I bought one at Target.
